About AFLSQ
The Aboriginal Family Legal Services Queensland (Maruma-li-mari) is a government funded organisation focused on providing services to assist with the unique needs of legal, trauma informed counselling, and non-legal support services for Indigenous communities of Southwest Queensland, Central Queensland, and the Wide-Bay Burnett Areas.
AFLSQ develops partnerships with other First Nations organisations to deliver Indigenous communities with culturally appropriate as well as providing services at the highest standard. Through these partnerships enables AFLSQ to continue our mission of supporting and empowering the well-being of our clients.
Our History
AFLSQ, has seen significant changes and improvement since the organisation was established in 2013. We continue to consider in a deliberative way how best to implement these changes moving forward.
Through this we ensure we deliver culturally-connecting legal, education, counselling and advocacy support and services for our clients and communities of throughout Queensland.
Our Vision
To provide to First Nation communities Specific, Realistic, Measurable and Achievable goals to understand and prevent violence to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander families in Queensland areas and to live their best lives safely in their homes and communities.
Our Mission
To provide holistic and culturally appropriate legal services and support to indigenous peoples living in Regional, Rural, Remote and Very Remote (RRRR) indigenous communities in Queensland including South West Queensland.
Our Values

We provide culturally sensitive assistance to Indigenous victim- survivors of Domestic and Family Violence, Family Law, Child Protection and Sexual Assault. We does this through the provision of:
