Partnership with UQ

Aborignal Family Legal Service Southern Queensland (AFLSSQ) is delighted to be working in partnership with the University of Queensland (UQ) through its  TC Beirne School of Law’s  Pro Bono Centre.

The Centre is a nationally recognised leader in the development, promotion and provision of student pro bono legal services.

We look forward to welcoming the TC Beirne School of Law graduates to AFLSSQ in 2018.

Located in Roma, AFLSSQ provides legal services to Aborignal and Torres Strait Islander people (approximately 13,881) and communities (12) across Southern Queensland (405,671.3 square kilometres).

UQ Pro Bono Centre Director Ms Monica Taylor recently visited AFLSSQ. As Director of the Centre, Ms Taylor is involved in pursuing pro bono legal opportunities for law students. AFLSSQ CEO Ms Susan Hamilton was delighted to welcome Ms Taylor to Roma and to learn more about the ways in which the Centre can support AFLSSQ with pro bono legal work.

We wish to thank the Centre for their support, and wish to congratulate them on receiving the prestigious Australian Award for University Teaching.
